English 1010

Throughout this semester of English 1010, I have learned how to become a better writer. Ms. Koester has taught me so much, especially things that I needed to work to better my writing skills. Writing isn't my thing at all. I absolutely hate writing, because it makes you think a lot.

Taking this course, however, has made writing more interesting to me now. Ms. Koester makes sure she explains the writing assignment very clearly so that it is easy to understand. We do similar assignments in class to prepare us for our real writing assignment. I highly recommend that everyone takes this teacher. She's the best!

Website Review

Cheerleading Review:

For this report I’ve decided to compare and contrast two very similar cheerleading websites http://varsity.com owned by Jeff Webb which is primarily targeted about cheerleading, camps, and competitions and http://americancheerleading.com owned by Michael Weiskopf which is primarily targeted about trending topics and articles on cheerleading.

The two websites have very similar audiences. They both are trying to appeal to cheerleaders or people interested in cheerleading. In addition, both websites are flooded with lots of informative information about cheerleading. On Varsity, the site reflects the audience by already having cheerleading topics on the homepage instead of having to click on tabs first, however, on American Cheerleading you have to actually click on some type of tab in order to find out information on cheerleading.

The sites main purpose on Varity is to get cheerleaders or anyone interested in cheerleading attention. They talk more about the history of cheerleading, cheer camps, competitions, uniforms, and etc. Varsity provides updates about topics discussed on cheerleading. It even offers a community page so different cheerleaders across the country can register and they will be able to cheer on their favorite cheerleading teams (whoever they want). On the other hand, American Cheerleading is more based on the trending of cheerleading. It provides articles about High school cheerleaders, cheer motions, meeting cheerleaders, and more. Even though Varsity has a sign up page so cheerleaders can cheer on their favorite team, American Cheerleading, however, has a “Win It” drawing. In the “Win It” drawing two lucky winners will have a chance to win cheer warm-ups, Polka dotted socks and bow, and a black cheerleading tote. American Cheerleading also takes you step-by-step to learn cheer motions.

Both websites accomplish their main purpose well, because they both are attracting cheerleaders. They focus mainly on different topics that people will love to read and learn about. Although Varsity has more varieties of topics that can be discussed throughout their page, American Cheerleading is an okay website as well. American Cheerleading just doesn’t have that much information on its website.

When you first visit the Varsity site, a video in the right hand corner starts playing out loud. The video continues playing until you exit off the website. Varsity uses a color scheme of blue and black followed by white wording tabs across the top of the page. They also have a solid white background. The sites are separated with different square blocks spread throughout the whole homepage. Varsity has somewhat of a variety of different fonts. As you scroll to the bottom, the font gets extremely small and may become harder for some people to read. The images that are displayed on the homepage fits right in with the theme, because there all cheerleading pictures. On the contrary, American Cheerleading has a yellow and blue color scheme with a solid white background. The design for this site is very basic and boring. Seem as though they use the same font throughout the whole page, but different sizes. There are pictures and videos posted on the website.

The navigation on both Varsity and American Cheerleading is a straight up and down scroll. You have to click on the tabs at the top of the page to learn more about the topics on the website. On Varsity, the videos automatically play when you’re on the page. On American Cheerleading, however, you have to actually click the play button on the video in order for it to start playing.

The content of both Varsity and American Cheerleading are very well thought out. Each website has covered its purpose. Varsity’s website purpose is to give updates about the cheerleading experience. It is also there to give informative information about camps, competitions, and uniforms. You can visit the shop tab to purchase cheerleading gear such as: cheerleading uniforms, shoes, socks, and more. In contrast, American cheerleading purpose is to trend about different cheerleading topics. American cheerleading really doesn’t have that much information, but they do provide articles about cheerleading, cheer motions, and perfection.

The speed on Varsity is very fast. You can push a tab and it will upload just like that. There are no troubles trying to get from one place to another on the website. Likewise, American cheerleading is way similar. It moves fast too; it has no trouble downloading anything especially videos.

Varsity has one banner ad, but is located in three different spots on the website. The advertisement goes along with the websites main purpose, because it is about a cheerleading book that people can buy. At the same time, American cheerleading has the exact same banner ad as Varsity. They both are advertising the “Game On” cheerleading book that is available in the Varsity shop were all the other cheerleading items are.

Varsity’s social media is easy to access. It can be found right at the top of the page on the homepage. Varsity only links to Facebook and Twitter. American cheerleading icons, however, are found on the right side of the homepage and all the way at the bottom of the page. It also only links to Facebook and Twitter. Although when you click on the social media links for American cheerleading it goes right to that exact page, Varsity, on the other hand, opens a whole new page just to show their social media links. Both Varsity and American Cheerleaders Facebook and Twitter page looks up-to-date. Each page is filled with lots of cheerleaders and cheerleaders doing stunts. Correspondingly, these two websites do not have a mobile option. Each site will look just as it appears on the desktop. Overall, there are many similarities and differences in both websites.

Cheerleading Benefits

Cheerleading involves more than just cheering the home team to victory, or performing crowd-pleasing stunts. It provides many physical, mental, and emotional benefits for girls too.

Physically: Cheerleaders practice and perform various stunts, routines, and dances. They get the crowd involved in the game. Cheerleading can teach life skills, including teamwork, discipline, and communication.

Mentally: Cheerleaders must stay healthy and physically fit. It promotes dedication and desire. All the values play an important role in the lives of cheerleaders and will follow them throughout their adulthood.

Emotionally: Cheerleaders form sister bonds among the girls on the squad. Through winning, losing, and long hours of practicing, cheerleading helps form lifelong relationships.

Manifesto

Social Media
Scrolling down my Instagram, I came across the usual pictures, reposts, and text grams. As I scrolled down my timeline just a little bit more, a naked female popped up and her caption under the picture said, “I’m horny.” Really? I instantly logged off my Instagram. “Why couldn’t she have just keep that to herself?” I wondered. After seeing that unnecessary post on my Instagram, I logged in to my Twitter account. The first post on my timeline was a female talking about how her and her boyfriend broke up and how she had been crying all day. She even posted something about how she wasn’t going to talk to anyone any more because she only wanted the one she loved. The females who posted those irrelevant posts were later found wearing the scarlet letters “PB” which stands for personal business. Every person who was found posting unnecessary post had to be burned with the letters “PB” to insure that they wouldn’t post anything else like that over the internet. Also, since they brought attention upon themselves to put it over the internet, the scarlet letters on their bodies captured everyone’s attention out in public.
The question still remains. Why are social sites still a walking diary for young teens? They feel the need to broadcast everything about themselves on sites such as: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Myspace. The Keep Your Business Away group better known as K.Y.B.A., decided to establish a group because we enough of these young teens spreading their business out like peanut butter and jelly on a sandwich. K.Y.B.A. is an organization that keeps away naked pictures, sex, fights, and unhappy relationships post that are spread across social network accounts.
K.Y.B.A is tired of seeing teens advertising their personal business. No one wants to see that every time they stroll down their timeline. Naked pictures, stories about their unhappy relationships, sex, and fights. The 21st century brought us the internet, but seem like we need to go back in early time if we don’t do something to stop this crisis. Everything is said over social sites now. In relationships, what happened to the face to face talks? There was a time when couples could just sit in talk about their problems with their mate rather than broadcasting it over the internet. The history of the American Revolutionary War of social networking sites started from BBS (Bulletin Board System) and has rapidly grew from Myspace, Twitter, Facebook, and now Instagram. Something has to be done about this atrocious act. These teens have conducted a way to circulate their personal business worldwide. As of now, the problem has become more crucial than ever. Instead of the Ten Commandments, there are only three that teens must abide by.
·         Thou shall not put any naked pictures or corny videos over the internet.
·         Thou shall deactivate their account if any unnecessary post is made.
·         Thou shall not make these social sites their personal diaries as far as talking about their sex life, fights, and unhappy relationships.
Not only has this social media problem provided personal business from people, but it also has highly increased cyber bullying, pornography, and stalking. For example, if someone exposes another person on any social site everyone is going to see it. This will lead up to cyber bullying, because everyone is eventually going to start spreading rumors about this specific person. Social media has given bullies an additional outlet. As far as pornography, social media has provided massive amount of ways for females and males to upload explicit naked pictures and naughty videos of themselves. Is it because they want to be noticed? There’s still not a complete answer for that question. People over these social sites also provide their personal information such as: name, phone number, address, and more. All this personal information leads up to stalking. Anyone can find out where you stay and stalk you now, because you put your personal information all over your account.
These people just don’t understand social sites are not personal diaries. Yes, you can post anything you want on the internet, but when you post things about sex, fights, naked pictures, or unhappy relationships then you have gone too far. It’s too much information. Attention? Maybe that is why people love putting their business out there so everyone can get a chance to see it.
Keep Your Business Away has to step in and do something. These teens are getting way beyond their selves. We have come to a conclusion that there should be consequences if this problem constantly occurs. If any unnecessary post is made, there will be steps you have to abide by or your account will be deactivated. Deactivating accounts will get under peoples skin, because no one wants to lose all their followers then have to start all over again in getting their followers back. There are only a few things we are asking everyone NOT to post.
DO NOT POST:

·         Naked Pictures
·         Anything about sex
·         Unhappy relationship posts
·         Fights
Furthermore, after a certain period of time the government will pass the No Business Allowed law. This law will be strictly enforced. For every post you do about these four things, your account will be deactivated immediately. Just remember it counts for EVERY social network account that you have. I’m sure no one wants to constantly keep getting there accounts deactivated over some mess.

The K.Y.B.A. will also create a “Watch Alert.” The Watch Alert will be installed into everyone’s computer system. Each time you post crazy mess on any social site, the Watch Alert will pop up on your computer screen. Alert! Alert! Alert!

If the post isn’t removed less than a minute, your whole computer system will be shut down. If you wait longer than a minute, that is when your accounts will be deactivated and you will have to start all over again.
Steps before Deactivation:
1.      Warning
2.      Watch Alert
3.      Computer Shut Down
4.      Deactivation
All because of a post though? Yes, you are surely right.
“Lock it up, it’s not a personal diary!”

Great Cheerleaders!!

Hummmmm... What is a great cheerleader? It's so much in cheerleading to were sometimes people don't even know what it takes to become a great cheerleader. You don't have to be the #1 Olympic gymnast, or have an amazing singing voice like Beyoncé, or maybe even have talented dancing skills like Ciara. I must say though, cheerleading comes with the hardest skills ever.

A great cheerleader? Someone who is spirited, determined, and open to try new things. Yes! That's the perfect way to describe cheerleaders. Their even outgoing, peppy, and friendly too. People see them as role models, great teammates, and motivators. Overall, their just energetic little athletes.

Who would've guessed that so many words can describe a great cheerleader? Oh wait. Did I mention, they are very enthusiastic, have sharp motions, and always keep a smile on their face at all times. Can they be rude? Never. Cheerleaders always stick with a positive attitude to motivate fans to cheer on their team. They have to learn to take a lot of criticism, because they are very active and noisy to were it can sometimes get irritating.

High School Cheerleading vs College Cheerleading

The transition from high school cheerleading to college cheerleading can be a challenge. From the tryouts, camp, and games it can sometimes become a struggle. Sometimes cheering can feel like a job that you don't get paid for. You have so many responsibilities that you have to take care of. It's ridiculous! Some people also think high school cheerleading and college cheerleading are the same, but in reality its not.

High school cheerleading is a very easy task. You have games, homecomings, summer camps, and pep rallies. Their practices range from five to three days a week after school. High school football and basketball games usually doesn't hold a large crowd. Being a cheerleader in high school can be the most "looked-up-to" activities a person can be involved in. It helps you set high standards for yourself, and gets you prepared for the next level of cheerleading.

College cheerleaders, however, are very competitive and the athletes playing for the college are much more talented in the school division. You have to put aside a lot of time and energy for college cheerleading. They are very sexy young ladies that do more professional cheers. There are way larger crowds at the games. The coaches base the cheerleaders practice schedule off their class times. College cheerleaders are put on at a higher level and the standards are usually raised high.

Ms. Carruth's Cheerleading Profile

Profile

Entering:

Pacing myself through the black and gold halls full of outstanding academic and athletic trophies, I made a quick right at the end of the hall and there her office was. As I walked in she greeted me with a dazzling smile, and on top of that I received an enormous I miss you hug. I could already tell she was elated to see me. Her office was as big as a classroom. Lots of round tables and chairs filled the center of the room. In the corner was a small computer station which contained about five to six computers at the most. The rectangular desk set far back in the right hand corner of the room. A massive number of pens, pencils, papers, folders, and calendars flooded the top of her desk. Behind it was a pink and green table decorated with little green frogs and also pictures of her family members, friends, and students. Pink and green? Yes, she was an Alpha Kappa Alpha of course.

As she sat at her desk, I immediately pulled a seat from the computer station and sat down beside her. I didn’t start the interview right away, because we had a lot of catching up to do. We chatted for a while about unimportant things. She took me around to introduce me to her coworkers. After that we went back into the office and it was time to get down to business.

Interview in Progress:

Ms. Detria Carruth is a hardworking and dedicated women that beginned her cheerleading experience 6th grade at Amanda Elzy High School in Greenwood, Mississippi. Her journey as a cheerleader continued all the way up into her freshman college year at Mississippi Valley State University in Itta Bena, Mississippi. She became a cheerleading coach at American Way Middle School in the year of 2005-2006. Her outrageous cheerleading skills lead her into becoming one of the top cheerleading coaches. Specializing in choreographing routines, she has grown extensive experience in all areas of coaching. Detria Carruth is now a parent counselor and a cheerleading coach. She is a very striving woman that only wants the best out of everyone.

Ms. Carruth loves the enthusiasm from cheerleaders. They motivate the crowd in every aspect possible. She has a passion to work with girls that are willing to improve; that inspire her most. She sees nothing but greatness in all of her cheerleaders. She explains how being a cheerleader helps you meet new people by adventuring out to different places. “It’s a big difference in high school and college cheerleading,” she says. High school cheerleaders usually stay within their district of cheering. At their football and basketball games there would be less of a crowd. The practices would likely fit your school schedule. As far as college cheerleader though, she gave a slight pause and giggled a little, college cheerleading don’t play games with you. They have larger crowds that they have to interact with in order to get them to participate. The cheers will be more on a professional level instead of those little cute baby cheers in high school. Also, your schedule wouldn’t be as flexible. Papers and homework due, classes to tend to, and you still have to make time for cheer practice every day. Just remember, cheerleaders stand out where you can go!

She continues by adding on the lessons she learned throughout her cheerleading experience. First things first, cheerleading is a sport and it requires physical movement in motions. It takes many years and lots of self-reflection to be an effective coach. It helps gain confidence and teaches you to take your own route towards life and always be a leader. For some odd reason, cheerleading made Detria Carruth feel good about herself! “Maybe, she said, “it’s because cheerleaders play an important role. We always stand with our heads held high, be strong, and just have a wonderful time. We make new friends, learn new things, and get to experience a whole new sport which is awesome.

Being a woman in her thirty’s, she started to discuss how she stayed in tip top perfect shape throughout her cheer career. Cheerleaders should always eat healthy to maintain a good body fit. Good attitude is a most. No one likes disrespectful and rude cheerleaders. Why? Cheerleaders represent their coaches; not only their coaches, but themselves and the school as well. Be respectful of yourself, coaches, and peers. You should stretch everyday all day! Ms. Carruth stated that stretching helps to improve your flexibility, jumps, and help prevent injuries. Every cheerleader should have good working habits, stay focused, and always take advantage. Last but not least, enjoy yourself. Show your bright smile, show spirit, and show that you actually appreciate being a cheerleader.

Break:

After talking for a lengthy period of time, we stopped to go get cold bottled sprites and a bag of chips from the snack machine in the teachers’ lounge. On the way to the lounge, we passed so many students and school faculty. Passing all the younger students made me feel as though I was in high school again. While we were in there, teachers were coming in from left to right asking a lot of different questions. After a while, we then returned back into her office and started the conversation back up.

Detria’s biggest challenge as a cheerleader was bringing girls up to part and making them perform at an excellence level. Cheerleaders form relationships among other girls on the squad. Through hours of practice, winning, and losing cheerleading help girls’ bond and form long life relationships. It builds school spirit and a sense of community at school and in their lives. Leaving the ones you spend most of your time with can be sometimes emotional, especially when you become really close to them she says. Every year you get new group of females that you actually have to start all over with. By that I mean get to know them all over again and cheer with a whole new group. That’s the biggest issue about cheerleading, but can also be the best because you meet new people.

Cheerleaders should be positive role models for their school by attaining good grades, working hard, and making friends not enemies. They should always show school spirit by dedicating themselves to school events. Most importantly, they must be responsible for balancing grades, home life, and cheer life. Every cheerleader must at least maintain a 3.0 GPA. It is an important athletic program to motivate and promote the team to victory. Their main job is to get people to cheer at games. Cheerleaders cheer, stunt, tumbling, and jump.

The most important thing in cheerleading for Ms. Carruth was stunt positions. Flyers are the presenters; they are the focus of the crowd and there job requires lots of arm muscles. A back spot is also very important, because they have to lift and support the flyer by pushing her to get her up. Also, if anything goes wrong they must catch her. Another important position is the base. They create a safe place for the flyer to stand on. Stunts can sometimes be very dangerous. This is one thing that cheerleaders have to practice over and over on a lot. Practice makes perfect! If they want to go out there on the field or court and be perfect than they know they’ll have to go the extra mile and put in that work.

Concluding the Interview:

Detria Carruth has taken part in so many cheer experiences. She concludes her conversation by stating that all females and males have some type of talent. Whether it’s at home, school, work, or anywhere else she encourages every female and male to get involved. In cheerleading of course! Go for it! Never be afraid to try new things. See, its more than just jumping, cheering, and screaming. “Some people thought cheerleading was just about all fun and game,” she said. No, the time you spend in cheerleading is crazy. You have hours and hours of practices, doing fundraisers, pep rallies, competitions, and performances. You have finances you have to take care of such as: uniforms, shoes, and etc. You have to set yourself to be a positive role model for others. Also, you have to work hard. Carruth adds that cheerleading is striving to think and act as one, but at the end of the day, cheerleading is worth the try!

Overall, cheerleading is a great way to get involved and interact with a large crowd. Cheering, stunting, tumbling, and jumping are the main jobs that cheerleaders do. Cheering helps you to become confidence in yourself. You have to get out in front of an enormous crowd, smile, cheer, and do everything you possibly can to pep the team up to victory. Forming relationships can sometimes become a big part of cheering. You have to make sure to stay fit, maintain a good attitude, and always, always, always stretch.

Embarassing Cheer Moment

Cameras all around and plenty of screaming fans entered the gymnasium as we prepared for our first football game of the season. Many alumni's, teachers, and other staff were also in attendance. Since I was a Freshman and it was finally time to cheer in front of a lot of people, I seemed to be more excited than anything. The excitement was real! The football team was so hype as the heavyset man on the microphone called out their names one by one. GO! GO! GO! GET IT! When everyone name was called, the football team bulldozed in the middle of the gym floor like wild animals. The fans joined in to help prepare the football team for their first football game. People were everywhere.
Cheerleaders, majorettes, pom squad, and flag girls also had to be called out and perform a routine for the crowd. I was so anxious for the cheerleaders to go. Performance by a famous rapper, majorettes, and the pom squad had already went. Now it was time for us. We all lined up in a single file line and patiently waited as they called each of our names. When my name was called I dashed across the floor hollering and screaming, and as I came to the middle I gave the fans a wide glowing smile and topped it off with an amazing high toe touch.
All the cheerleaders were on the floor, and it was now time for the cheer performance. LETS GO, LETS GO TIGERS! Hitting every cheer position, you would've thought I was a pro. Well, at least I did. But then something happened. The most embarrassing moment of all time. As we crossed the floor while we were cheering, another cheer member ran smack into me and I fell in front of the WHOLE gym. The cheerleaders were still going, but it seemed as though every eye was on me. All the laughter I heard made my eyes water. Oh wow, I was so embarrassed.
I got up as fast as I could, but they were near the end of the cheer performance. When it was finally over, all the cheerleaders ran off the floor. Everyone came running up to me saying, "Hahahaha I saw you fall girl." Mad as ever on the inside, I managed to laugh at myself because it was kind of funny. All the fans, staff, and most importantly the football team saw me fall. That was so embarrassing, but I laughed it off with everyone else. Sometimes I wonder, "Hummm, did the cameras catch that."

Memoir:
I loved being me. A tall, light skinned, skinny young lady with a whole lot of outstanding talent. My everlasting middle school years were finally over and the relaxing summer had come to an end. Tossing and turning in my oh-so-comfortable queen sized bed, looking at the silent ticking clock on the right side of my computer desk every five seconds, I impatiently awaited as my high school life was about to begin the next morning. 6:00 a.m. comes and my alarm starts blasting. I hopped out my bed like a big frog and started getting prepared for the day ahead of me. As I stepped my way on to the over-crowed school lot, some type of joy brushed passed my face. My smile became so wide with all my teeth showing to were you would’ve thought I won a 1,000,000,000 dollars. Khaki and black creased school pants, white collared shirts, new hair styles/haircuts, purses as big as shopping bags, brand new tennis shoes and high heels, you can tell that the girls and guys were ready for school.

Everyone had to sit in the cold auditorium until each grade level was called to receive their schedules. Shivering in the flappable gray seats, goose bumps arriving on every body part there was, chills been sent down my spine every second, and surrounded by so many students of all grades, I knew it was going to be a long day. The seniors, juniors, and sophomores were finally cleared out the auditorium and now it was finally time for us freshman. A dark skinned lady wearing a pretty pink dress with black heels got onto the microphone in called out 9-10 homeroom. I knew my name was going to be called because she had all the last names ending in R. Alexus Richardson, Jasmine Richman, Brandon Richmond, Tichina Riddle, and so on. As she called my name, I slowly walked up the long aisle way in front of all the other freshman to get my class schedule. I was kind of nervous, but all my friends were there, so that made it somewhat better.

The hallways seemed like a jungle in disguise. There were students everywhere! Teachers on every corner of the hall and every doorway, students bumping into one another trying to get to their next class, assistant principals in the hall yelling that you have 10 seconds left to get to your destination, and janitors trying to clean the halls while the students are transitioning to class. It was a hot mess. After the first day of it being a total mess, the school faculty seemed to have gotten the other days straightened out. During the rest of the week there was better transitioning to class, they had lots of activities for us to get involved in, and I got a chance to meet a whole lot of new people. Overall, the whole first week of high school was fascinating.
Since I loved to be active and throughout my whole middle school year I cheered, I thought that I should continue my athletic skills and do sports throughout my high school year too. Cheer tryouts were in full bloom. Every high school girl wanted to be on the Whitehaven High School Tigers, most school spirited, cheerleading team. Cheerleading tryouts were just right around the corner. After practicing in my lengthy pink wall mirror everyday doing lots of stumbling toe touches and hurkies, I knew that I was ready for tryouts. On the second week of school in August, lots of girls from different grade levels were eager and ready to learn the routine that we all had to perform on Friday for the judges. Sitting in my last boring class, yeah, you know the type of boring class to where you have to fight to stay awake and where the teacher seems to purposefully make his or her students miserable, I impatiently waited for the loud earsplitting school bell.

Twenty minutes later the irritating school bell rang. Dingggggggggg! All the cheerleaders bulldozed into the locker room door crumbling up like little crumbs to change into their black cheer shorts and white tank tops to kick off the first day of cheer tryouts. There were six rows with twenty girls on each row and there I stood, number five on the first row. Every cheerleader that tried out had a little colorful number tag on their shorts each with a different number, and mines happened to be number 5. All the freshman girls had to get on the first row then the sophomores, juniors, and seniors followed behind us. When it was finally time to start everyone had to sit on the hardwood court to do stretches. The gym felt like a steaming iron already, so by us practicing in there we were really going to be exhausted. 30 jumping jacks, 20 sit-ups, 10 six inches, and then start all over again until we did two sets of each. Struggling through the exercise trying to catch every breath that I can, but I still maintained to pull through. After running up and down the metal bleachers, running from half court to full court back to half court again, they finally told us that we could go home.

On the next few days of tryouts, we learned one dance and a cheer to perform on Friday. The dance was a bit difficult, but it was something I can handle. We also were taught all the basic positions of a cheerleader. My arms felt as if heavy 1200 pound weights were sitting on top of them as I tried to hit every position that the observing coach called out: high v, low v, t, broken t, right l, left l, etc. Three older women dressed up in jogging pants and a t-shirt walked around the staggering cheer lines also to evaluate us. They made sure that every girl had the moves down pack in order to perform them on the next day.

TRYOUT DAY! Cheerleaders lined up outside the gym door waiting for their numbers to be called to enter the judging room. Everyone had on their black shorts and white tank tops all over again. As I joined the line with all the other girls, I become more nervous than anything. Maybe it was because I just knew I wasn’t going to make the team, especially since I was a freshman. Or maybe I didn’t think my skills would meet there requirements. On this day, I wasn’t confident in myself at all. The time was here though! Girls 1-4 cheered and hollered their way through the judging room with one girl stumbling over another. After they came out it was my turn. My body was shaking, heart beating fast, but I knew I had to go in and give it all I got. When everyone finished trying out, they lined everyone up in the judging room and immediately called out everyone who made the team. Jumping up and down, smile as big as a full moon, I received some good news. Guess what? I MADE THE TEAM! I didn’t give up. I strived for what I really wanted and I actually made it. With me going for what I love to do, I see now that anything is possible as long as you don’t give up.

My First Cheerleaders Blog !

Welcome !!!!!!

Throughout my blog you will mainly read about beautiful young women in scrimpy, sexy uniforms. Maybe I should say blooming stars. A group who verbally expresses their excitement to cheer  a team or organization to a winning victory. You may know who I'm referring to now. Cheerleaders! Yes, the girls who shine bright at every football and basketball game.

Cheerleaders don't get recognized like they should. Some people may think cheerleading is not a sport. Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! Cheerleaders do the same as every other sport. Practice, workout, has a coach, pay fees, have guidelines, perform, yeah that sounds like what every sport has. There the girls who compete, work hard, and strive to be the best.

Words that describe them well are dedicated, energetic, and highly motivated. Cheerleaders are very positive role models for others. From back flips, to round offs, to full layout twists, to tossing people in the air, yes they do it all. Who do you know that can cheer, jump, holler, and smile all at the same time? Nobody, but cheerleaders. They deserve their props.
